Professional Darts Corporation- PDC

Professional Darts Corporation is a leading darts organisation. It was founded by the Worlds Dart Council in 1992 in the United Kingdom. Initially, the players of PDC were not recognised by the BDO. However, an agreement at a later stage led to the recognition of players and the Worlds Dart Council was renamed as Professional Darts Corporation. The PDC is a leader in organising various darts championships around the globe.

The events organised by PDC are telecast by sky sports. Sky sports telecasts six tournaments organised by PDC in a year. Darts events organised by PDC are telecast in Ireland, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa and United States.

Sky sports introduced cameras for the telecast of darts events. The different cameras introduced were:
Flight cameras that showed the path of the darts in slow motion.
Player camera which was fitted on a player's shirt to show his or her throwing action.
Tiny cameras which were inserted in the dartboard.
Floating video cameras to capture the action of the audience.

The PDC has its own ranking system where players are ranked according to their performance in the darts tournaments organised by PDC.

The premier league darts is the most famous darts event organised by the PDC. The tournament features top seven players playing against each other twice over ten nights around the country. The top four players then take part in play offs and finally a winner is declared. This tournament is organised in the country's best arena with an audience of around eight thousand people.
